27th June Motoland UK Mildenhall Thomas
is Batty about Mildenhall! 90
Racing MXC Round
6 Club Championship Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer At
the premier venue of Motoland UK, Mildenhall it was no surprise that Team 90
rolled in to a perfect paddock and were faced with a track prepped to perfection
by Cliff and crew. The heat of the
sun was only just matched by the blistering pace of the riders with busy line ups
in every group as racing ensued. Team
90 did everything possible to mitigate the blazing conditions with over 300 free
bottles of water handed out to riders as they came off the track, slightly
shortened second races and a break from racing at the peak of the heat.
All racers appreciated these measures and they worked with a handful of
injuries during the day, none of which were serious. First
out went the Auto riders and riding on the full track they were fantastic to
watch. Rossi Beard showed his usual
flair taking overall first with two wins from three.
Lewis Hall rode well and despite a poor second race did well enough to
take second overall. Drew Kemp rode
consistently well in all motos to take overall third just ahead of Koby Newbould
in fourth. Next
came the Junior 65 group, and Jake Winnard recovered well from a slight knock in
the first race to win the next two motos winning overall first with some style.
Lewis Cloud had a terrible second race but did enough in the others to
take second overall. Cloud was tied
on points with Kurtis Griffiths but Cloud’s last race finish gave him second
leaving Griffiths in third. Griffiths
did a cracking heel clicker over the finish line jump in the last race after a
fantastic race gave him his first ever podium finish in third overall. Next
out went the Small Wheel 85 riders and these were so fast today!
The lead in each race was different riders throughout each race but the
chequered in every race went to young Jordan Eccles.
Eccles took overall first with maximum points but did not have it easy
and fought hard to come through as winner. Racing
hard right with him was Will Wall.
Smooth and stylish to watch, Wall took overall second.
Luke Reading recovered well from a poor first race, and did enough to
take overall third. Next
on the gate lined up the Big Wheel 85 group and top notch racing was seen again.
Max Acres was breathtaking to watch, looking completely at home through
the sand. Acres took overall first
with two from three excellent race wins. Neil
Roe was also awesome yet again riding out of his skin to take overall second.
Michael Wall was chasing hard throughout the day and rode consistently
well and fluently to take a deserved overall third. Next
up came the Youth Open group and it was dominated from the start by Glenn
Fletcher. Fletcher rode two groups
all day in the blistering heat, and with two from three wins in the Youth group
really deserved the number one spot on the podium.
Daley Coldron rode with his customary determination and with consistently
high place finishes all day took second overall.
George Clarke was also consistent in a very fast group and just clinched
the last spot on the podium finishing third overall, just ahead of Dillon
Polson. Up
to the gate lined the usual full gate of Novices.
Novice veteran Symon Burton really enjoyed his day and with consistent
smooth riding took overall first, and for the first time in his (lengthy) racing
carer took top spot on the podium, so well done to Symon.
James Milne took the last two race wins after an off in the first race.
Second overall was the highest he could get to.
George Jarvis improved throughout the races and took overall third, just
ahead of Darren Steels – another Novice veteran who won the first race in
style. An
excellent gate of Intermediate B riders hit the gate next, and consistent rider
James Wilson won the last race to claim overall first.
Danny Hall rode fantastically well after winning the first race to take
second overall. Young Brock Hayes
won the second race, but a terrible last race finish saw him drop into third
overall, just ahead of David Durose in fourth on his comeback ride from a long
term injury. Last
out went the Expert A adults and these were just awesome entertainment for the
spectators who braved the heat to watch. Thomas
Batty rode like a demon and was just fantastic to watch taking all three race
wins in 35 degrees heat. Daniel Hiorns chased hard in all races and with three
second place finishes took overall second. Jason
Boutell rode consistently well behind them and took a well earned third overall,
just ahead of Rowan Hill. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting in tough conditions with the
intense heat. The usual team ran a
clockwork meeting with excellent racing throughout the groups, and thanks to all
the riders for turning out and providing such a fun meeting.
Next meeting is a change to the advertised fixture, taking place at
Finningley on July 11th- the week before the BYMX hits it.
It is therefore advisable to book in early as it is expected to be a very
busy meeting. Overalls: Expert

Racing MXC Round
5 Club Championship With
another short notice meeting at a new venue for Team 90 it was perhaps
surprising that over 160 riders turned out at Sand Hutton (Gravel Pits).
However when the track was viewed every credit must go to the land owner
and to Lee Slade of NYMX for a fantastically prepared track that all riders
enthused about. The track rode well
in the sunshine and looked good even after the heavens opened in the last race. First
out went the Auto riders and young Kieran Remy had an excellent birthday taking
maximum points with all three race wins. Right
behind him in style was Connor Cartwright earning second overall with some
lovely riding. Joe Winnard and
Oliver Woods tied behind them but young Winnard had the better last race and
claimed third place on the podium leaving Woods in overall fourth. Out
came the Junior 65 class and as usual they were a high standard.
Jake Winnard showed his usual style and took three excellent wins to
stand in first on the podium. Mitchell
Gribbins rode awesomely well right behind him and claimed second overall.
Youns Samuel Price also rode consistently well finishing third three
times and claiming overall third. Next
out went the Small Wheel 85 riders and these were highly exciting to watch.
Declan Ryan won his first race and finished in overall first with some
excellent riding. Jake Biggs rode
consistently well and claimed his second place on the podium with some excellent
race finishes. Sonnie Edwards
recovered well from a poor first race to finish overall third.
Jordan Eccles had a terrible first race with bike problems, but then won
the next two motos to take him into fourth overall. Next
on the gate lined up the Big Wheel 85 group, and again these were fantastic to
watch. A win and two seconds were
enough to give Neil Roe his first ever top spot on the podium with a well earned
first place overall. Joe Anguish
rode three great motos and deserved a second overall finish on the podium.
Callum Ward took overall third despite a poor third race and Lewis Clarke
rode very consistently to take overall fourth. Next
up were the Youth Open group and as usual they were just awesome, and very
close. First place was tied on points. Josh
Mieszczak was awesome in the last race and won it, taking overall first with
style. Zak Biggs also rode three
awesome races finishing second overall. Joe
Kidd won the last race but a terrible last race finish dropped him into third
overall, just ahead of Bradley Coleman. Up
to the gate lined the usual full gate of Novices.
With three excellent motos James Milne improved throughout the day and
finished with a win to take overall first. Sean
Williams won the first two motos but a poor last race saw him drop to overall
second. Danny Feltham upped the pace
throughout the day and finished in third overall. Another
full line up of Intermediate riders went out next and again they were excellent.
Two wins from three gave Wayne Buckberry the overall first place.
Danny Hall won the last race and finished second overall, just ahead of
very consistent Kerry Wilson in third. Last
out went the Expert A adults and these were good to watch.
Jon Scrafton was most consistent and took overall first with three second
place finishes. Aaron Lowe with a
race win under his belt finished an excellent overall second.
Christian ‘Turbo’ Taylor had two race wins but a poor results when
avoiding a backmarker in the second race saw his points drop, and him finish in
overall third. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.

Racing MXC Round
4 Club Championship Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer Almost
200 riders at short notice went to the track of Finningley for an extra meeting
put on by Team 90. For the most part
the sun shone and the track was prepared to perfection by Ed, Merv and crew.
All riders had a great full days riding with 3 blocks done and dusted
before 5pm. First
out went the Auto riders and yet again Finley Rossi Beard flew round the track.
Maximum points again for him gave him another first place finish.
In second place chasing hard was young Kieran Remy.
Connor Cartwright was flying through the sand and took an excellent third
overall, just ahead of Cobra boy Joe Winnard. Out
came the Junior 65 class and they flew! Oliver
Consterdine looked unstoppable and dominated the field, taking first place
overall. Jake Winnard again was
flying and took and excellent second place finish.
Adam Burgoyne also had a great day with consistent riding taking overall
third. Next
out went the Small Wheel 85 riders. Callum
Whaling improved his results throughout the day taking overall first courtesy of
an excellent last race win. Jake
Biggs was also flying and took second overall in style.
Jordan Eccles was very unlucky in the last race.
After winning the first two bike problems saw him out of the start and he
did well to come back into the race earning himself overall third. Up
next to the gate were the Big Wheel 85 riders.
Two wins from three gave Luke Bull his customary top spot on the podium.
Nathan Dixon recovered well from a terrible first race, winning the
second moto and gaining second overall. Daniel
Wright was unlucky to be caught in a pile up at the start of the third race but
pulled back awesomely well and fought his way back taking third place overall. Next
out came the Youth Open group and the boys at the front were breathtaking.
Glenn Fletcher dominated throughout the day despite also riding in the
Expert group. Three wins gave
him overall first in style. Daley
Cauldron was right behind him taking second overall with consistent riding.
Adam Campion and Dillon Polson were tied on points in third.
Campion had an excellent last race which gave him overall third, leaving
Polson in fourth. A
full gate of Novice riders hit the track next.
Andis Lililientals looked fantastic on the sand, and took overall first
with two from three race wins. Darren
Steels had an excellent day taking second place on the podium.
Ian Severn had a poor last race but had done enough to take the final
podium place, just ahead of Lia Turton in fourth.
Another
full line up of Intermediate riders went out next and they were good to watch!
A mixed bag of results with changing results throughout the day
eventually saw Kerry Wilson take first place overall after winning the last
race. Darren Ibbotson won the first
race but couldn’t match it again and took second place overall.
Dan Charlesworth recovered well from a poor first race to win the second
and take overall third. Last
out went the Expert A adults, again a big gate, and these were just awesome to
watch. Christian ‘Turbo’ Taylor
dominated the day, and won first place prize money with three excellent wins.
Never letting up with three second place finishes was Daniel Hiorns in
second overall. Scott Beevers also
chased hard and took overall third with three third place results.
The spectators gathered to watch these boys ride out, and they put on a
fantastic performance for them. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.

Racing MXC Round
3 Club Championship Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer Team
90 rolled into the scenic venue of Barnoldswick to be greeted with an
excellently prepared track, which was prepped to the best of the track owners
ability. In the blazing sun almost
200 riders appreciated the efforts put in, and a great day of racing ensued.
First
out went the Auto riders. This was
the first round of the Auto Dominator, yet again heavily sponsored, and the
little ones had everything to ride for. Finley
Rossi Beard dominated the class, taking all three wins and first overall with
maximum points. Close behind and
tied on points were Luke Jerromes and Kieran Remy.
Jerromes had the best last race so claimed overall second, with Remy in
third. Koby Newbould had some great
races and finished fourth overall. Next
up came the Junior 65cc riders. Young
Jake Winnard had a fantastic days racing, and took overall first place in style,
with two wins under his belt. Rhys
Upton right behind him also rode consistently well to claim second overall.
Adam Burgoyne took third overall with one race win after recovering
brilliantly from a terrible first race. Then
came the Small Wheel 85 kids, and Jordan Eccles as usual dominated the track.
Maximum points from all three races put him straight on top of the podium
in first place. Keenan Armstrong
also had a great day, flying round the hard pack track.
Armstrong rode well to take overall second.
Tayla Smith in third had a poor last race, but had done enough to give
him the last podium place, just ahead of Callum Whaling in fourth. Next
to hit the track were the Big Wheel 85s, and Kyle Platt on home turf hit the
track first, and stayed there. Another
maximum points taker, Platt looked awesome on the hills and straights of
Barnoldswick, deserving his first place overall finish.
Just behind him Luke Bull took some awesome airtime on the jumps, and
finished well in second. Sam Norris
and Neil Roe tied on points behind Bull. Norris
took third place overall with the best last race finish to leave Roe in fourth. Up
to the gate came the Youth riders and these boys were on fire.
Winner on the day was Daley Cauldron.
Two from three race wins gave Cauldron an excellent first place finish.
Adam Campion won the first race, but couldn’t repeat the feat, and
finished second overall. Danny Blair
rode consistently well and took third place overall, ahead of Josh Mieszczak in
fourth. The
Novice riders hit the track next, and was all change throughout the day.
The overall winner without a race win was consistent Luke Kay.
James Milne took second overall after winning the last race.
Danny Feltham also rode well, and had all top 5 finishes in all races
claiming third place on the podium, just ahead of Nathan Ditchburn in overall
fourth. In
the Intermediate B group there was nothing to choose between the top two riders
and they went into the last race with a win each.
Danny Hall ended the day in first overall with Sam Chapman in second
place. Kerry Wilson rode like a
demon round the hard pack taking an excellent third place overall. Out
last went the Expert A adults, dominated by Ashley Wilde and Adam Reynolds.
Wilde, not long back from injury, took top place prize money with two
from three race wins. Reynolds won
the last race, but had to settle for second overall.
Micheal Hand and Lee Harrison were battling behind them, and Hand just
pipped Harrison for third place, leaving Harrison in fourth overall. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.

British Youth GP 4th & 5th April Mallory Park British
Youth GP Hosted
by 90 Racing MXC Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer The
annual British Youth GP again took place over the Easter weekend at the Mallory
Park race circuit. Preparations at
the track began early, and everything was in place for a very busy weekend.
Late Saturday evening the traditional bank holiday rain made its
appearance, however the excellent preparation done by Rob and crew at the venue
stood it in excellent stead to withstand six full blocks of racing with full
groups over the two days. The event
was heavily sponsored and before any gate dropped it was obvious the event was
going to be hotly competed. The
riders didn’t disappoint and the many spectators were treated to an awesome Out
first in the races went the Experts, and with the calibre of riders entered it
was always going to be awesome to watch. Clear
winner taking all six races and the overall first place was the breath-taking
Alfie Smith. Josh Spinks, on home
turf, was behind him all weekend and took overall second, also entertaining the
crowd with his excellent riding style – despite puncture problems.
The consistent Tom Crittenden just pipped Jarad Goodwin for the third
place overall with Barnsley boy Goodwin finishing fourth. Next
out went the Adult Novice group, and again some excellent racing ensued.
Winner overall with four race wins to his credit was the excellent Sam
Chapman from Lincolnshire. Chapman
fought hard to overcome Matt White who had travelled all the way from Weston,
who took the first two race wins, but did so in style, leaving White in second
place overall. Gary Audsley rode
consistently well in all races, just beating Rhys Harrison for the final podium
place. Audsley finished third
overall with Harrison in fourth. Next
out went a fantastic full gate of Youth Open riders – fantastic to watch that
is! Nottingham boy Damon Wales rode
it well, and despite bike problems ended overall tied on points for first place
with Andrew Smart – also riding Mallory well.
Wales won the last race therefore took overall first place, leaving
Barnsley boy Smart in second overall. Dan
Thornhill also rode consistently well finishing just behind the leaders in third
overall. A
full gate of Big Wheel 85 riders lined up next, and was dominated from the
minute the gate dropped by Sam Winterburn from Skipton.
With 5 from 6 moto wins Winterburn was clear winner taking overall first
in style. Curtis Blaney from Wales
rode hard against him, and took a win to his credit.
Blaney took overall second ahead of Ryan Proctor.
The Lancashire lad Proctor rode very well and just beat local rival Sam
Wragg, with Proctor finishing third overall and Proctor fourth. Next
out went another full line up of Small Wheel 85 riders, and this race was
fiercely contested. The awesome
Danny Lanfear shot ahead from the first, but the riders behind were just
watching for any errors. 5 from 6
race wins showed Lanfear did not make many mistakes, and thoroughly earned his
overall first place. Local lad
Robert Yates did get through in one race, but had to settle for overall second
– but he never gave up chasing. Young
Jordan Saunders also fought hard through the pack of riders and deserved well
his third place podium position just ahead of David Keet in fourth.
Next
out went the little Junior 65 riders, and they were battling hard in a very big
line up for them. Drew Warren rode
fantastically well, beating the rest in almost all the races with 5 race wins
under his belt. He deserved to stand
in the top spot on the podium. Bradley
Flag rode consistently well also. He
did win one of the races, and with several second place results deserved the
number two spot for second overall. Third
place on the podium went to Nathan Harlow.
Harlow rode consistently well, and took his place ahead of North East boy
Adam Burgoyne. The
Auto riders went out last on a challenging track for them, and they earned the
respect of the large crowd by keeping going, and flying round the track at
Mallory. The distance travelled by
young Daniel Chisholm didn’t show as he took overall first place with a clutch
of first place finishes. Lancashire
lad Finley Rossi Beard also rode like a demon to take a well earned second place
overall finish. Local boy Dylan
Edwards also rode well, taking third place overall just ahead of Dominic Lancett
in fourth. Thanks
must go to Team 90, the Score 90 girls of Julie, Jodie, Katie, Bev and Nicola
and Squad 90 marshalls. All worked
extremely hard to put on a very well run successful event, which bodes well for
next years Youth GP. The many
sponsors of the event must also be thanked.
Shocktech Suspension generously donated a Suspension service to all youth
winners. G-Tyre Direct gave all
second place riders a rear tyre and Craigs Motorcycles in Yorkshire gave all
third places a voucher for the store. There
was a raffle following the trophy plate presentation with allsorts on it.
Donors to the raffle included Dirt Bike Rider, Mick Extance who gave away
an off road experience day, Danger UK with countless goodies and XMX with some
great prizes. The fantastically
generous Spiral Graphics also donated, with not only a top prize of a full
graphics set, but holeshot prizes for all groups.
Not only those but the Auto Rider of the Weekend got a fantastic 2010
Mongoose Pit Crew BMX courtesy of 90 Racing MXC in conjunction with Leisure
Lakes Bike Store. All in all,
despite rain trying to stop play, all involved had a fantastic weekend. Overalls: Expert

Wainwright 21st March Preston Docks Scott
goes it Sloane 90
Racing MXC Round
2 Club Championship Team
90 had it’s first meeting at the North West premier track of Preston Docks on
21st March, and what a cracker it turned out to be.
Despite rain trying to stop play on Friday and Saturday over 200 riders
turned out at 90 Racing’s first venture into Lancashire.
The track was a credit to Lee and crew at PDMX, and the preparation work
that went into it was outstanding. The
Autos had their own track at PDMX and therefore had lots of extra track time.
The little guys had plenty to do on this surface, and racing was
outstanding. Clear winner with
maximum points was Finley Rossi Beard, with three fantastic races.
Chasing hard, and unfortunate at times was Kieran Remy.
Remy was also awesome to watch and got second overall, coming back well
from a bad off. Third overall also
riding well was Patrick Jackson with three third place motos. Out
on the main track the Experts went out first.
Rob Clitheroe was awesome to watch, powering round the PDMX track, taking
maximum points in style with all three wins.
Chris Shallcross was also fantastic, and earned second place overall.
Dropping to third after a poor last race finish was Kevin Wells.
Looking a contender for a podium finish Andrew Wilson had a terrible last
race, which sent him down to fourth overall. Next
out went the Intermediate B riders. A
full gate ensued fast and furious competition and overall winner was Ben
Parkinson, whose consistent riding gave him the top spot without actually
winning a race. Kerry Wilson
recovered well from a poor first race and two excellent races gave her enough
points for second overall. Tim James
had a appalling first race, but won the second and third motos which was enough
to give him third overall. Next
to hit the track was another full line up of Novice riders.
Clear winner was Scott Sloane with three outstanding race wins.
Sloane took overall first with maximum points.
Deserved second overall was Anton Faulkes with three excellent races.
Unlucky in the last race was James Milne, who finished the day in third
overall. Up
to the gate the Youth riders and Lewis Parkinson was another maximum point
taker. Three excellent races gave
Parkinson all three wins and the overall first place.
Daley Cauldron also had three tremendous races in a very high standard
group to gain overall second. Adam
Craggs rode consistently well throughout the day to gain third overall. The
Big Wheel 85s hit the track next and in a full line up there was a clear leader.
With exceptional riding throughout the day Jack Kelly was outstanding and
took three clear wins to take overall first.
Thomas Davies chased hard all day and deserved his second overall.
Luke Bull had a poor last race but it wasn’t enough to drop him off the
podium places and he finished in overall third. In
the Small Wheel 85s the top two rider tied on points but Casey Connolly by way
of an excellent last race win finished overall first.
After winning the first race Jordan Eccles fought hard in the next two
but settled for overall second. In
the third overall was Callum Bircher with three consistently rode races, just
ahead of Tayla Smith in overall fourth. Out
last went the Junior 65s. Keenan
Hird flew through all three races winning two from three to earn overall first
and take top spot on the podium. Alexander
Brown rode three steady races chasing him and ended overall second.
Drew Roe won an excellent first race to win the first moto, but
couldn’t get back up there afterwards finishing a creditable overall third. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.
The meeting ran like clockwork thanks to the usual crew, who ran a
fantastic meeting, helped greatly by an awesomely prepared track so thanks must

7th March Finningley Winning
on a Daley basis! 90
Racing MXC Round
1 Club Championship / Round 3 Winter Series Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer Team
90 rolled into Finningley on Sunday 7th March and were greeted by the
sight of an awesomely prepared track, courtesy of Ed, Merv and DMP team.
The sunshine breaking through was a welcome respite from a very cold
winter. Almost 250 riders turned out
to race on a track that was perfect for the very high standard of riders out
there and racing throughout the day and in all groups was breathtaking to watch. First
out went the little Auto warriors. Luke
Jerromes looked commanding round the track and eased to overall first, winning
two from three races. He was closely
followed by Kieran Remy who rode consistently well to get three second place
finishes taking overall second. Dominic
Stevenson also rode extremely well, powering his way to first in the second
race, but couldn’t do enough in the other motos and finished overall third. Next
out went the Expert A adults and three second place finishes was enough to give
Aaron Crowder the overall win with some fantastic consistent riding in a very
fast full group. Lee Payne had a
terrible first race but recovered in style with the last two race wins, which
bumped him into second overall. Josh
Spinks also rode consistently well, powering through the sand into overall third
just ahead of Alex Hornsby in Hornsby’s first race since last year. Next
to hit the track were the Intermediate B riders and again a very high standard
of racing ensued. Clear winner in
style in a full line up was Wayne Ferguson with maximum points from all three
moto wins. Second overall was Sam
Chapman, with three third place finishes to his credit.
Young Danny Hall rode three excellently consistent races and placed third
overall. Next
up came the usual full gate of Novice riders.
Ashley Thompson showed his customary standard by taking two from three
wins to finish overall first. James
Milne won the first race but a bad race in the last took him out of contention
for the overall win, and he settled for overall second.
Danny Feltham also had a poor last race, but had gained enough points for
overall third. Up
to the gate came a full line up of Youth riders, and the standard to watch was
awesome. These riders were all
change throughout the day. Daley
Coldron won overall first without winning a race.
He was tied on points with Ryan Crowder but a better last race finish
gave Coldron the top spot. Crowder
also didn’t win a race, but consistent riding gave him the overall second.
Cory Nemeth powered round the track, and recovered fantastically well
from a poor first race to win the last moto and pull him back to overall third,
just ahead of a consistently performing Ashley Smith in fourth. Out
next came the Big Wheel 85s and in a full line up there was a clear leader.
Overall first with three race wins and maximum points was Tom Neal.
Neal rode as if there was only him on the track, putting on a display of
skills fantastic to watch. Sam
Winterburn also rode as if the sand wasn’t there, taking three second place
finishes and the overall second. In
behind him with constant riding came Nathan Dixon in overall third. In
the Small Wheel 85s Jordan Eccles was in a class of his own, again a maximum
points rider. He flew round taking
all three wins and overall first. Second
overall chasing hard all day was Jake Biggs.
Biggs had three excellent finishes to take the second spot.
In third overall were two riders tied on points.
Luke Reading rode a fantastic last race, and the finish gave him third
overall ahead of Dexter Douglas in fourth. Out
last went the Junior 65s. This was
dominated by a few riders. Louis
Hurst showed a fluent style and eased to overall first with just one from three
race wins. Brandon Sharples was
unlucky in the second race, and that result cost him as with two from three wins
he was looking good. Sharples
deserved a second place overall, just ahead of Jake Winnard who again showed
fantastic ability to take overall third Thanks

all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.

Racing MXC Round
2 Winter Series Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer Team
90 rolled into FatCats on Sunday, and over 150 riders turned out for round two
of the annual Winter Series. Martin
and Neil tried to get the track right for racing, and under the circumstances
did a good job. The day was delayed
for quite a while by the serious illness of one of the spectators, but she is
now recovering well in hospital. The
delay did bring the day to a short one, but a very long second block was given
to offset the loss of the third. First
out went the Expert A adults and yet again Josh Spinks was the winner.
Winning the last moto took him to first overall and pole position for the
Winter Series 1st place. Barry
Turnbull improved in the second race and took second overall, while Aaron Lowe
had a fantastic last race to push him into overall third.
Craig Venske was unlucky when after winning the first race bike problems
saw him DNF the second. Next
to hit the track were the Intermediate B riders and again a very high standard
of racing ensued. Young Adam Extance
took both wins in style, taking maximum points and overall first.
Daniel Hall put in his usual high standard performance to take overall
second with ease. Jamie West
recovered from a terrible first race to ride fantastically in the second and
came back through to overall third. He
was tied on points with Scott Matthews but the better second race finish saw
Matthews finish fourth overall. Next
up came the entertaining Novices. Andy
Holland rode extremely well to take the overall first after winning the first
moto. Ashley Thompson rode his
consistently well performing races to take overall second.
After an awful first race Cameron Macro rode like a demon to take overall
third after winning the last race. In
fourth again riding consistently well came Peter Swannack. Up
to the gate came the Youth Open riders, and as always there was top standard
riding in this group. Andrew Smart
looked comfortable in the mud, and winning the last race gave him first overall.
Lewis Riley, as always near the front, rode with style to take overall
second. Damien Brooks battled
throughout the day with Daley Coldron. Brooks
just took it on points leaving Brooks in third overall and Coldron in fourth. Out
next came the Big Wheel 85s. Kyle
Platt went out and rode fiendishly well in the depths of the mud.
Winning the first race was enough to give Platt a deserved first.
Sam Winterburn chased hard, and won the last moto to give him second
overall. Luke Bull rode excellently
to take third overall, just ahead of Neil Roe in fourth. In
the Small Wheel 85s Max Pinny rode consistently well to take overall first after
winning the first race. Pinny
powered through the track, and well deserved his overall finish.
Jordan Eccles also blasted round and won the last race, but couldn’t
catch Pinny on points leaving Eccles in second overall.
Luke Reading also looked fantastic out there and well deserved the
overall third place. Out
last the Junior 65s went out. What
riding these little riders showed! In
the hard work that was FatCats a clear win was scored by young Jake Winnard.
Winnard rode in a class of his own, and the chasing pack couldn’t touch
him. Maximum points gave him a
deserved first place overall. George
Sim-Mutch recovered well from a poor first race to chase hard in the second
race, and flew round finishing tied on points with Callum Green.
Sim-Mutch’s excellent second race stood him in good stead as the finish
from that bumped him into second overall, leaving Gren in third. Thanks
again to Team 90 & Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to
all helpers on the day who helped run the meeting.
Best wishes to Sally Shepherd, along with hopes for a speedy recovery.

Racing MXC Round
1 Winter Series Race
Report: Lynsey Hamer
Muddy
fun at FatCats - Photo courtesy of Racing Photos Team 90 rolled into FatCats on
Sunday, and over 150 riders turned out for round one of the annual Winter
Series. The rain did it’s best to
stop play, but racing ensued and was fantastic throughout the groups.
The lapscorers had a very hard time reading the numbers, but managed
admirably, and fun was had by all – with the exception maybe of said scorers!
Every credit must go to Martin and Neil for the tremendous amount of work
which went into getting the track ready for the meeting. First out went the Expert A
adults, and these were breathtaking to watch.
Races one and two went to Josh Spinks, who took the overall first with
some awesome racing, even with a flat in the last race.
Second overall after winning the last race was Christian ‘Turbo’
Taylor, who didn’t let up for a minute chasing Spinks.
Consistently riding Craig Venske took third overall, just ahead of Zac
Stealey in fourth. Next to hit the track were the
Intermediate B riders, again of a high standard.
Daniel Hall took overall first without winning a race, but consistent
high performances saw him win out. Second
overall after winning the last moto in style was Adrian Baines.
Third overall with consistently good riding was Ben Williams.
Mention must go to David Ajnby who looked well on for the win after
winning moto one and two, but a DNF in the third race saw him out of the top
spots. Next up came the usual full gate
of Novices. These are son much fun
to watch and put on a performance for the spectators.
First was Andy Holland, who won the first moto and took the overall first
place. Young Ashley Thompson had
three excellent results, and winning the last race pushed him into overall
second. Craig Downing improved
throughout each race and finished overall third. Up to the gate came the Youth Open
riders, and these were awesome to watch. Lewis
Riley was on fire and took two from three wins to take overall first with style.
Right behind him was Luke Crowther who rode hard through the day to take
second overall. A fantastic last
race finish gave Stuart Owen third overall, just ahead of Jason Moore in fourth. Out next came the 85cc riders.
In the Big Wheel group Sam Winterburn looked unbeatable through the mud
and took all three motos, looking comfortable.
Luke Bull chased hard but couldn’t get to him finished a creditable
second overall. Neil Roe had a
superb day, finishing third overall in a very fast group. In the Small Wheel 85s Jordan
Eccles was flying to take overall first with three excellent wins.
Sheldon Fox was consistent and fast and took second overall with some
hard chasing going on. Callum
Whaling had a poor last moto but had done enough to take third overall, just
ahead of Luke Reading. Out last the Junior 65s lined up
at the gate, and a hard day was ahead for these little riders, a lot of whom had
just jumped off an Auto. Keenan Hird
was unchallenged as he rode three terrific races, powering round the track.
George Sim-Mutch rode out of his skin to take second overall with three
tremendous results. Jake Winnard was
unfortunate in the last race, after some formidable riding had put him in an
excellent position, and dropped to third overall just ahead of Aaron Hanson in
fourth. Thanks again to Team 90 &
Score 90 for their usual hard work and dedication, and to all helpers on the day
who helped run a fun meeting. Next
