PRESENTATION EVENING 2011

NOVEMBER 5th 2011 7pm

Cedar Court Hotel

90 Racing MXC

90 Racing MXC held it’s annual Presentation Evening on Saturday 5th November at the stunning venue of the Cedar Court Hotel.  A fantastic evening was had by all, with the trophies and awards being given first, followed by an awesome buffet, with dancing afterwards.  The evening began with an excellent video compiled by Adam Barber which had footage, helmetcam footage and images from throughout the year and which received a standing ovation!  Lynsey Hamer welcomed everybody to the evening and then went on to do the Presentation.  Neville Bradshaw was a star handing out the trophies and the stunning Emma did a great job of presenting the trophies with him.  The first thing handed out was the plate from MCFederation, and was presented to Team 90 and accepted by Zak Biggs and Tye Harvey.  The team then presented a plate to Rob Parrinello and flowers to his lovely wife Caroline to say thanks to Richardson’s Business Equipment Ltd for sponsoring the team.  The club excelled themselves yet again with the huge silver cups which went down an absolute storm.  Every group winner had a fantastic array of prizes to go with their trophy and also a red No. 1 number plate and every rider took home a goody bag with a DirtBikeRider magazine/TMX News and sweets, stickers and other exciting bits!

After the trophies for the Championship there were the special awards as listed below finishing with the shields, and after that there was still lots going on.  First Katy Hamer gave Danny Gledhill an award to say thanks for his help all year and after that Alex Hamer gave Robert Biggs a Team 90 Mechanic award to say thanks.  The girl riders of Katy Hamer, Leah Sherriff, Kirsty Lowe and Chloe Chapman got lanyards and large medals with ‘Girl Racer’ emblazoned on it.  There were bouquets of flowers for the very hard working lapscorers and time keepers – that’s Julie Chapman, Jodie Chapman, Nicola Townend, Andrea Armstrong and a crate of beer for Chris Chapman.  Flowers were also given as a thanks to the other 90 ladies – Claire Whaling, Julie Pryce, Louise Biggs, Denise Wallis, Helen Sherriff and Jane Rushmore.  More crates of beer followed for the fellows who help out – that’s Stephen Gledhill, Robert Biggs, Darren Whaling, Gareth Pryce, Paul Moody and Mick Sherriff . Mick Sherriff also got awarded his Clerk badge from Terry and the MCFederation.   Finally there were medals and certificates for the 90 Racing supporters club – the travelling fans also known as the brothers and sisters of the riders!

That should have been the end of the awards but the end of the speeches were hijacked when Mick Sherriff got up with a collection for Terry Hamer from the riders to say thanks to him with £80 in it! And then the riders led by Neil Roe and James Howarth presented Lynsey with a HUGE bouquet of flowers again to say thanks.

The final crowning glory of the evening was a live on stage proposal by Adult B rider Ash Thompson who went down on bended knee to his girlfriend Kim Cope and to massive cheers got a very quick yes when he popped the question to the delight of the crowd!  The awards were followed by the raffle for which tickets have been sold for weeks.  The prize was a free ride for next year – club membership, licence and entry fees for every single meeting in 2012.  It was won by the extremely lucky Jake Biggs who was delighted (but not as much as his dad!).  Then came the raffles which included a fantastic array of prizes including four helmets, a Nintendo Wii and two fantastic MX90 stands!  The club also auctioned another free ride for 2012 which was won by Phil Capstick for the princely sum of £300.00.  Neville Bradshaw also brought along with him a race shirt which was auctioned off for £170.00 to Dave Naylor.

After all that it was time to eat, and at the fantastic buffet which was constantly replenished you could eat your fill and then on for some dancing to the sound of the disco which went on til 1am.  All in all, it was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all, which the club gave back allsorts to it’s riders for their support this year.  It bodes extremely well for next year for the Club, whose Summer 2012 Championship starts on February 26th at Preston Docks.  With an end of year event such as this to look forward to the Championship should be very busy again!  Thanks to all who helped with sponsorship, the evening and who have helped all year.
