2009 PRESENTATION

SATURDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 2009

300 people were well fed, got awesome trophies & took some of well over £2000 worth of gear up for grabs on the raffle

90 Racing MXC held it’s annual Presentation Evening on Saturday 14th November at the stunning venue of the Earl of Doncaster Hotel.  A fantastic evening was had by all, with the trophies and awards being given first, followed by an awesome buffet, with dancing afterwards.  The evening began with an excellent video compiled by Tom Collinge which had footage, helmetcam footage and images from throughout the year and which received a standing ovation!  Lynsey Hamer welcomed everybody to the evening, and Lynsey & Paula Anguish then went on to do the Presentation together.  The stunning 90MXPix girls did a great job of presenting the trophies.  The club excelled themselves yet again with the huge trophies, which were the height of some of the riders.  Each schoolboy group winner had a fantastic array of prizes to go with their trophy and also a red No. 1 number plate and each adult group winner took a case of beer to celebrate their win with their number plate.

The awards were followed by the raffle for which tickets have been sold for weeks.  The prize was a free ride for next year – club membership, licence and entry fees for every single meeting in 2010.  It was won by the extremely lucky Neil Roe who was delighted (but not as much as his dad!).  Then came the raffles which included a fantastic array of prizes including six helmets, mostly purchased by the club, with prizes also donated by the clubs own spares van, XMX spares, and some by CMC Motorcycles & Mick Extance Off Road Experience.  There was also a bit of movement when it was announced that under 2 of the 300 seats were stickers, one large & one small.  The holder of the small sticker was Dean Winnard, who got a pair of goggles for one of his lads, and the large sticker, found by Sam Davies took an excellent THH helmet.  The club also auctioned another free ride for 2010 which was won by Mark Wankling for the princely sum of £325.00.

There were bouquets of flowers for the very hard working lapscorers and time keepers – that’s Jane Rushmore, Julie Chapman, Louise Edwards, Katie Anguish, Jodie Chapman, Sally Shepherd and Trish Thorp.  Whisky for the fellows who help – that’s Steve Crowther, Darren Whaling, Chris Chapman & also whisky for Chief Medic John Ashburn of ER24, and medals and certificates for the 90 Racing supporters club – the travelling fans also known as the brothers and sisters of the riders!  Various special awards were also given, and are listed below the Championship awards.  Thank you presents given to Emmie & Abbie Anguish for their help.  Lynsey & Paula gave to the clerks some very nice aftershave and young Small Wheel rider James Howarth got the hardworking lapscorers some chocolates himself to say thanks.  After all those awards, it was time to eat, and at the fantastic buffet which was constantly replenished you could eat your fill.  Then on for some dancing to the sound of the disco which went on til 1am.  All in all, it was a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all, which the club gave back allsorts to it’s riders for their support this year.  It bodes extremely well for next year for the Club, whose Summer 2010 Championship starts on March 7th as always at Finningley.  With an end of year event such as this to look forward to the Championship should be very busy again!  Thanks to all who helped with sponsorship, the evening and who have helped all year.
